RunScene questions, answered
Everything people ask about RunScene: what it is, what it costs, which watches it works with and how the leaderboards work. Rated 4.8 on the App Store and used by 1,600+ runners.
What is RunScene?
RunScene is a free app for runners and run clubs, on iPhone and Android. You can find run clubs near you and see who is going to each session, follow your friends, and have your runs post themselves to weekly leaderboards, with PB medals, streaks and training plans that adapt to how you are running.
Where can I download RunScene?
RunScene is free on the App Store for iPhone (https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/runscene-the-running-app/id6761382290) and on Google Play for Android (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.myrunclub.app). Search for RunScene in either store.
Is RunScene free?
Yes. Finding and joining clubs, syncing your runs, your feed and the weekly leaderboards are free. Runner Pro adds full run statistics and adaptive training plans for £5.99 a month or £39.99 a year, and the first week of a training plan is free.
What is the best app for finding a run club near me?
RunScene is built for exactly that: it lists run clubs by city with their meeting points and times, and shows who is going to each session before you turn up. Most running apps are training logs first; RunScene is built around clubs and the people you run with.
How does RunScene find run clubs?
Clubs are listed by their organisers and by runners, and the app shows the ones closest to you. RunScene has club listings across the UK, and this site has run club guides for 96 cities.
Does RunScene work with Apple Watch, Garmin, COROS and Strava?
Yes. RunScene reads running workouts from Apple Health on iPhone and Google Health Connect on Android, so runs recorded on an Apple Watch, Garmin, Strava or most other apps arrive on their own. COROS can also be connected directly for route maps, splits and heart rate.
Do my runs post automatically?
Yes. Once you connect Apple Health or Health Connect, a finished run posts itself to your feed and counts on the leaderboard, without you typing anything in.
How do the RunScene leaderboards work?
Leaderboards rank distance run this week, Monday to Sunday, and reset every Monday. There are boards for your friends, your local area, your country and your club, and you get a notification when someone passes you.
Does RunScene have training plans?
Yes. Plans from 5K to marathon are built from your own recent runs, update when you run, and adapt to how each session felt: easier when you are struggling, harder when you are ahead.
Is RunScene a Strava alternative?
It works alongside Strava rather than replacing it. Strava is a training log; RunScene is about running with other people: finding clubs, seeing who is going, and weekly leaderboards with your friends. Runs you record in Strava can come into RunScene through Apple Health.
Can I run my club on RunScene?
Yes. Organisers can list their club for free, post sessions, see who is coming and run a weekly leaderboard for their members.
Does RunScene work outside the UK?
Yes. The app works anywhere and has guides for cities in the US and Europe as well, though most of its clubs are in the UK.
Who is behind RunScene?
RunScene is an independent app made in the UK, previously called MyRunClub. Double Paralympic champion Richard Whitehead MBE is its ambassador.
What happened to MyRunClub?
MyRunClub is now RunScene. Same app, same clubs, same account: only the name and the look changed.
